Chantal S. Wilton, PT, DPT
Chantal S. Wilton is the owner, operator and head PT of APTOW. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1995 from Laval University in Quebec City, Canada and in 2020 has earned her Doctorate degree through Evidence in Motion. Chantal has been a McKenzie certified therapist and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2005. Over the years, Chantal has completed numerous PT classes and has specialized in manual therapy and pelvic floor dysfunctions. Chantal has received extensive training in Visceral Manipulation (VM) from the Barral Institute. VM, a gentle manual therapy that aids your body’s ability to release restrictions and unhealthy compensations that cause pain and dysfunction, is now offered at APTOW. In February 2015 Chantal had undergone intensive training and became certified in ASTYM treatment, a new therapy that was scientifically developed to target the actual cause of the pain rather than just the symptoms. ASTYM treatment is unmatched in its ability to resolve tendinopathies, plantar fasciitis, Achilles and patellar tendonitis, scar tissue problems and other soft tissue dysfunctions.
Ami Gydesen, OT
Ami Gydesen received her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 1992 from Keuka College. She is Nationally Board Certified as a Registered Occupational Therapist. Over the years, she has worked with all ages from birth to age 99 and has had experience in neurological, psychological, developmental and orthopedic problems. Ami’s goal is to assist people to overcome problems with a variety of biomechanical, sensory, cognitive and functional techniques so that they can participate in daily living to their maximum potential. Ami assists people to adapt their world with innovative techniques and equipment. Custom splinting and hand therapy is an area of interest for Ami. Recently, Ami received her certification in ASTYM therapy to further assist people in recovery from overuse syndrome and soft tissue injury.
Julie J. Tharp, BS, PTA
Julie has practiced as a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant since 2001 when she received her Associate of Science degree as a PTA from Ivy Tech State College in Muncie, Indiana. Since then, she has had extensive experience working with Traumatic Brain Injury patients and orthopedic outpatient rehabilitation. Julie has received a certification for Astym treatment for soft tissue management and as a Certified Brain Injury specialist. Since graduation, she has also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Findlay in Findlay, OH. Julie has been happily married for over 30 years with 2 grown children and looks forward to serving her community by helping improve our client’s quality of life.”
Lauren Perry, Marketing Manager
Lauren brings a passion for design and a dedication to ensuring each patient feels welcomed to the office. She implements creative strategies to drive customer interest through multiple media platforms. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and New Media from The State University of New York at SUNY Potsdam in 2019 and continues to expand her knowledge in marketing. Outside of the work place, Lauren enjoys organizing and decorating home spaces, spending time with friends and family, and going for walks with her dog.
